D&D Bigby Presents - Glory of the Giants is an exciting new expansion for Dungeons & Dragons, due for release in Australia at the end of August. This expansion introduces players to a world of epic adventures, where they can explore the realms of giants and uncover ancient treasures. With new quests, characters, and challenges, Glory of the Giants takes players on an unforgettable journey.

Read on for a preview on how you’ll be able to grow your next adventure.

New barbarian subclass - Path of the Giant

As a Path of the Giant barbarian, you will channel the strength AND stature of Giants when you rage in battle. This won’t mean you’ll automatically hulk out and blow your pants apart, but instead give you an AWESOME opportunity for some thematics. What will your transformation look like? Do you change into an just a super-sized you? Do latent elemental or animal features take over temporarily?

If you ask me, you can't go past turning into a giant bear-person.

Giant's Power (3rd level): Giants are innately tied to the primal energies of the multiverse, and this connection will manifest with a touch of magic as you learn the druidcraft or thaumaturgy cantrip. You'll also learn how to communicate with giants (ie. all of your words will BE IN CAPITAL LETTERS).

Giant's Havoc (3rd level): Your rage taps into primal forces, boosting your size, reach, and even your damage with thrown weapons. Use your newfound size to wreak havoc on a much larger area than most of your martial allies can ever hope to affect.

Elemental Cleaver (6th level): Infuse a weapon with primordial energy, dealing extra damage to enemies near and far. Pick up your pike, imbue it with elemental power, and hurl it like a spear. Even battle-focused features can provide rich roleplay opportunities: Consider how it might feel for your fire genasi character to channel the power of a frost giant or for your character adopted by stone giants to wield the power of the storm.

Mighty Impel (10th level): You're big; it stands to reason that you should be able to pick up smaller things—or enemies—and throw them. Hope you've been lifting.
Demiurgic Colossus (14th level): Demiurgic Colossus boosts all of your aforementioned features, ensuring they'll keep up with the threats you'll face at this level. More damage, greater size, longer reach, and mightier throws.

Giant Foundling Background

This Background allows you to tell the story of a Small or Medium sized adventurer who has spent their formative years growing up around Giants. Maybe you were found as a teeny tiny baby and raised by doting Giant parents? (the reverse-Loki). Maybe your family has long dwelt with Giants, and it’s time to run with your 16-foot tall friends.

Either way you’ve learned to adapt, and have special skills and attributes to show for your efforts.

Skill Proficiencies
Giant foundlings gain proficiency in Intimidation and Survival:

Languages and Equipment
You have grown around giants and can speak their language. That means BIG words. Lots of letters. You also gain proficiency in a second language, perhaps reflecting the region you grew up in or the people you and the giants frequently traded with or even fought.

You also start your adventure with a set of clothes, most probably borrowed from a child’s toy or very tiny giant baby. You also start their journey with 10 gp, perhaps scavenged from between the cushions of a giant couch, or from under the fridge (It’s impossible to get in there for a giant)

Size and Abilities
By spending so much time around giants, eating giant food and drinking giant drink, you’ve managed to grow a little bit bigger than those typical of your ancestry. How this manifests is up to you, but playing The Mountain from Game of Thrones comes to mind.

Strike Of The Giants Feat
Your link to giants also provides you with the Strike of the Giants feat at 1st level. You’ve been taught how to hit… BIG!

When taking this feat you choose from the six kind of giant you can align with. Once done you can use this ability once per turn after landing a successful strike wither either a melee or ranged thrown weapon.

Cloud Strike. Your strike deals extra thunder damage and has the potential to turn you invisible to that creature until the start of your next turn or until you attack or cast a spell.
Fire Strike. You deal extra fire damage.
Frost Strike. You deal extra cold damage and have the potential to reduce the target’s speed to 0 until the start of your next turn.
Hill Strike. You deal extra damage of your weapon’s type and have the potential to knock the target prone.
Stone Strike. You deal extra force damage and have the potential to push the target back.
Storm Strike. You deal extra lightning damage and have the potential to give your target disadvantage on attack rolls until your next turn.

New Giants
Of course, learning more about Giants means learning about MORE Giants. Below are a few examples of the huge challenges to come.

Frost Giant Ice Shaper
Frost giants are often known as mighty warriors, rampaging their way across blizzard-stricken battlefields with their war horns, and forging power structures in the ordning based on sheer might. But frost giant ice shapers, the warrior clerics of frost giant society, weave powerful magic through their mastery of runes.

Frost Giant of Evil Water
There’s a new frost giant who has gone all in on evil, Elemental Evil that is. The frost giant of Evil Water is tied to the Princes of Elemental Evil featured in Princes of the Apocalypse. The Princes of Elemental Evil are godlike beings from the elemental planes. They lead devoted cults and seek to use their respective elements for sheer destruction.

Frostmourn
Not the sword from WoW, but instead a vengeful undead frost giant. Frostmourns are what might happen when you don’t solve your frost giant infestation in an ethical way. A frost giant killed through some dishonorable means can rise up again as a frostmourn.
